I have had a request to go into more details on the ice maker and ice tasting better, that I mentioned in the refrigerator smells gone with my Fridge-it www.fridgeit.com blog a few days back. Yes I put the Fridge It odor absorber cube right into the ice maker bin that the ice falls into.
The ice from my ice maker always had a terrible smell. The ice picked up that smell and so my ice tasted like old shoe leather. No, it does not harm the cube, and there is no mess, so you just plop it in the bin and the ice falls on top of it. The air passes through the activated charcoal and it traps the odor. The ice tastes terrific.
